It must be so frustrating to see your progress taken back in this way! Don't loose focus though you will soon be rowing with a vengeance again! You know you can out row SC and you know you will get to Mauritius! Keep faith!

Bummer - but on the positive side you've been going for over 50 days so you know you can do this. What's the odd day to so backwards? You'll soon be out of the current and headed in the correct direction again - towards food and beer!

Hello guys from Cowes!! Been keeping up to date with your progress everyday - you're doing amazingly. Thought I'd help you out with the requests for puzzles etc, but you seem to be making progress again today... so here goes incase you hit another exceptionally dull moment; It's purported that Einstein said 98% of the world's population could not figure out this logic problem; (knowing both your competitive (!!) personalities, i'm sure you'd both like to join me in this 2%!!) There are 5 houses each with a different color. Their owners, each with a unique heritage, drinks a certain type of beverage, smokes a certain brand of cigarette, and keeps a certain variety of pet. None of the owners have the same variety of pet, smoke the same brand of cigarette or drink the same beverage. Clues: * The Brit lives in the red house. * The Swede keeps dogs as pets. * The Dane drinks tea. * Looking from infront, the green house is just to the left of the white house. * The green house's owner drinks coffee. * The person who smokes Pall Malls raises birds. * The owner of the yellow house smokes Dunhill. * The man living in the center house drinks milk. * The Norwegian lives in the leftmost house. * The man who smokes Blends lives next to the one who keeps cats. * The man who keeps a horse lives next to the man who smokes Dunhill. * The owner who smokes Bluemasters also drinks beer. * The German smokes Prince. * The Norwegian lives next to the blue house. * The man who smokes Blends has a neighbor who drinks water. Who owns the pet fish? Congratulations again on how well you've done so far - hopefully soon i'll be updating the uksa blog with 'world record holders Andy and Guy...' (i've put a few bits up there about your progress, will do again soon) take care, and hopefully you're both still carrying enough weight for some effective motorboating to while away any tedious moments!!

Ahh gutted... That's such bad news. I hope it helps a little to know that so many people are supporting you here and willing you on. You've both had to overcome so many obstacles already, I'm sure that you'll get through this one and come out stronger on the other side! Spoke to my Mum the other day (Guy) and she said they saw your mum recently in town. She'd updated them on how you were getting on too, so word seems to be getting round! Will be following regularly and trying to post some comments a little more. (Hope one or two of them get through at least!) Pete

Early this morning I sadly read that Simon and OME had withdrawn from the race. Total respect for his endurance, guts and determination to go it alone!! Remembering our time in Geraldton, watching the final few days of preparation being placed together and having the side to side chats and support from both his parents Ken and Rosemary. I know Guy and Andy will be feeling this too, maybe giving Simon a call tonight as he is spending one last night on OME. Tomorrow he will be transfered to the Mother ship, Desiderata with as much equipment as he can manage.OME to be towed if possible, back. Thank you Ken and Rosemary for all your support. Please convey this to Simon from all of us. xtina and nigel

Yayski, glad to hear you are on the move again and in the right direction. I think that is really sad for Simon Prior, considering how well and how far he got. But glad you guys are still doing awesomely! xx

Really sad about Simon retiring. he did SO well and achieved amazingly. He must be so proud of himself for tackling 52 days at sea. Boys, proud of you both too. Cant believe you have been out their for 52days. Fantastic. Shame sense of direction is sometimes little off course......typical men!!!!!!!! Row,row, row, want you on the downhill course home now please xxxx

THIS IS SO UNFAIR ! So we make up last week that Ronaldo moves from Man United to Real for £80M and I tell the girls, breaking the news gently by sat phone. Then the next week Ronaldo goes and does it! The 'facts' will clearly have to be more outrageous from now on. Jem PS - Lottery numbers anyone?
Dione - Petit11 June 2009
hee hee - that's the first thing i thought of when i heard the Ronaldo news Jem - we will obviously have to get our imagination going with these false headlines!!!

Really happy that you're heading in the right direction again! Chin up boys! You're doing brilliantly well, so a current came and spiced things up a bit, you're better than the current!! xxxx

Ken and Rosemary I'd just like to second the sentiments of Xtina and Nigel - it makes it so much harder to take in having been on that pontoon in Geraldton where FF & OME were together. It is impossible to know how Simon is feeling my heart goes out to him and my thoughts are with you all. Totally overwhelmed with his achievement and so sad too. Claire

Happy belated Birthday mate!!! Couldn't think of a better place to celebrate. You are both leg-ends!!!!!! Tom mentioned brain teasers and I heard this one on an episode of Columbo (probably the best show of all time). See if you get it - its called a minimal information problem: There are several sacks of gold coins (as many as you like). However, one of these sacks contains fake gold coins and subsequently weighs slightly more than the others (lets say a pound more in weight). You have one token which you can use by putting it in the weighing machine. It produces one weight reading. Once you have used the token you cannot use it again. Using this one token, which is the sack full of fake coins?
