Gillian says How good to see such progress. What were you eating on the 18 day to make such progress. Well done its so adictive watching your every move. Further news on the shooting stars the season is about to start so keep watching.... Well done on the 2hrs on and 2hrs off.Have been doing a little research on this and there is a tribe in Brazil in the Amazon basin jungle they are called the Piraha and they take naps 15mins to 2hrs at the extremes during the day and night. So they live their entire lives doing this. This makes visiting very difficult for outsiders as the noise level is very high ( so not recommended). they think sleeping too soundly in the jungle can be dangerous; they fish by night, row, hunt etc so you are not alone.Great book for other bloggers to pass your journey "Don't Sleep There Are Snakes"!

think the boys are finding a lot of time at the moment to appreciate the small things in life, as when I heard from Andrew the other day his highlight of the day had been an aeroplane passing over!!!! The support for the boys still remains to amaze me, by the comments on the blog and from chatting to people. All is being relayed to them, so big thanks. Row boys Row

It's so good to be able to see your progress again I felt so cheated when I couldn't see how you were doing. It's also great to hear your comments and thoughts on how you are feeling - it makes you seem closer to us all somehow. Thinking of you - love from andy and clive

Boys, top work - keep it up. I thought that maybe you could do with a puzzle to keep you occupied over these long days, so here goes: A boat has a ladder that has six rungs, each rung is one foot apart. The bottom rung is one foot from the water. The tide rises at 12 inches every 15 mins. High tide peaks in one hour. When the tide is at its highest, how many rungs are under water? Answers on a postcard...

Good progress boys- keep plodding on. Interesting article on the Woodvale website about one of the teams getting into the water to clean barnacles off of the bottom of the boats hull to reduce drag. Something I imagine not too attractive a prospect given the stuff swimming about down there?!? Have either of you had to get into the water yet? Toss a coin for it I guess? Anyway, heres to week 3! C'mon!
JeremyChristey10 May 2009
Neil, they haven't got into the water as yet. It's a tricky business, however ATM they'd rather be at the top of the food chain than a part of it...

Hey gents You are flying! Just checked your 24h Speed and it's quicker than one of the fours (Bexhill Trust), and what's more you're within a stone's throw of Old Mutual Endurance - I knew you'd catch him! Keep going strong and keep listening to those tunes, they must be giving you some oomph!! Lots of love Chris, Ali, Jenny, Peter, Nicky, Jonathan & Alex xxx

Boys, You're doing amazingly. The Horsham Press - and national radio! - are all over you like a cheap suit. Keep chasing Southern Cross. When you do maybe you'll even make the front page of the CT! if that's not an incentive then I don't know what is. Thinking of you both xxx

Boys - question for the evening: "Did either of you take a cuddly toy ? Love you, Amelia (age 2!) 'bit more'
Moses12 May 2009
Maybe they use each other for cuddles in such a tight space, reckon there must at least be some accidental (?) spooning going on?! Progress at the moment is impressive, your doing an amazing job out there, keep it up and let's get those Southern Cross boys caught and left behind!!!!! With you all the way! Mos x
John12 May 2009
Yes, its good to be able to track your progress again. I know you must have Southern Cross in your sights even though they have sneeked a lead on you for the moment. I know you two with your mind set on catching them up will do it. I shall watch out for that push day by day. keep going at it! Everyone is rowing with you! You can have as many 'belly busters' as you can manage in Mauritius!!
