Really pleased that the first half has successfully been completed it has taken huge endurance, patience and courage from Guy and Andy. The constant support from so many sources has been an inspiration to them I am sure. So a big thank you to all contributions from team supporters. sponsers, family and friends. Both boys are a year older and I am sure a lot wiser. Progress this week so far is very impressive with the pairs often achieving distances rowed by the fours. Let's hope for favourable winds and currents to speed them on the final leg to Mauritius. Nigel

Bon Jovi: "Woooaaaaahhh, we're half way there.....wooooo..ohhhh, living on a prayer!" Can't remember the last time I sung along to that one in a cheesy 80's club in Worcester...can you Moses? Going to leave it a few more days until I start making competitive noises about winning! Boys, question about your rowing: On an effort scale of 1-10 with 1 being almost asleep and 10 being so hard that your eye balls are nearly popping out, how hard would you say you are rowing? Has this changed at all, or does it change with every shift? Well done on all fronts. Godspeed!

hey Guy and Andy. CONGRATULATIONS !! for making the half way point. Let me tell you, i couldn't have made a mile, so you are certainly doing better :) I am so proud of you guy. As my cuz we have both seen each other grow and mature. I can't begin to say how proud I am of you. For Andy, I know we have only met when your saw me at my birthday meal two years ago, but well done for your achievement and hope we will keep in touch. Good luck for the rest of your journey, GOOD LUCK!! and hope to see you both very soon!!

Thanks for the kind words about the website and blog. The design and implementation of the website was mostly the work of Nicola and Stephen. I only get involved with adding bits into the framework already set up by Stephen. Now if Andy and Guy can finally leave those pesky SC lads miles behind in their wake. I see that at the last update SC were headed towards Antarctica - so keep up the good work SC.

WELL DONE! CONGRATULATIONS.....Sorry to have not been able to log in for a while, the old shoulder is getting better, but still a little sore. checking your tracker, it seems that you have had quite a hard time with the weather, but I think that Xtina and Claire have better plan their journey to Mauritius very soon or you will get there before them.....keep it up boys, I think that you have already faced the worst part. Good Luck.....

Half way!!! I take my hat off to you both, you are on a level now that most of us will never reach! As someone has already said I couldn't manage a mile! It must be downhill now to Mauritius, well I hope so anyway. Looking at the map you look so close to the SC pair! Have you caught sight of them yet? A whale at 50m sounds a bit scary, but must be a spectacular sight in a rowing boat. Good luck to you both, I'm sure the second half will fly by! Ann,John and Boys.

Well done boys for reaching the halfway mark - a real achievement and we are all very proud of you - hope the Ferkins will continue to speedily fly to Mauritius with the wind and tide in a more favourable mood. Love Clive and Andy

Hi there guys!! Congratulations on passing the halfway mark!!! Very pleased for you...and to have seen a whale, and so close too. You are very priveleged. They are such wonderful creatures. I have inly seen a mother minke whale and her calf ( in the wild) and they were amazing . It was some years ago now, but we were staying on Mull and went out on a boat to hopefully see some wildlife. We were so lucky. The mum and calf spenta good 1/4 hour or so playing around the boat and swimming underneath and then reappearing the other side. It was a calm evening and made a perfect end to a day. I keep watching your progress and am so proud of you...it takes a lot of courage and guts to do what you are doing!! Of course, I am watching Sarah too. She has had a frustrating time recently, but hopefully will now be on a red carpet for a while...I hope so...the suspense of waiting for you all to come in safe from the sea is excruciating at times....even though we are all proud of you all!! Take care, say hello to ant whales for me...I think they are such beautiful creatures!! HUGZ Helen (Sarah's Mum)
