Having followed your preparation over the last 12 months or more it is fantastic to see the world record attempt less than a month away. You have already learned so much and put in incredible energy and creativity to make this happen - whatever nature and the elements bring, you have done your best to prepare for it. We will be following your progress. Look after each other, and know that all your friends and family will be willing you the strength and resilience to get to the end in record breaking time. Good luck Guy and Andy

Little did I know when I watched and willed you on all those times you rowed the Head of the River that you would be off on this amazing adventure - I will be willing you on and watching you as a tiny dot on the screen instead of yelling from the river bank but the sentiments will be the same. I know you can do it Andrew and Guy you are a great team - enjoy the time you have in Sydney and Perth - chill and have fun you've done amazingly.

Just commented on the blog below but probably more appropriate to comment on this one. Definite emotional day for all, but a good one as finally this challenge has started and the boys are closer to achieving their goal!!!! As a long suffering girlfriend to this challenge I am obviously excited for beginning, as means the end is ever nearer. But joking aside GOOD LUCK boyos and looking forward to some blogging action over the months and looking forward to popping that champagne for a record breaking result!

I echo everything said above - now the fun really starts for the two of you and it won't be long until you're pulling away from the aussie coast beginning the most amazing challenge. When you're in Freo, make sure you check out Little Creatures in the main marina. Good luck fellas - i'll be glued to this site for the next four months. R

Yes, strange how you can spend a year planning for something and then when it comes somehow its a shock when it really happens! I know they are off on a trip they will never forget and will teach them so much. I am sure it will be great fun! I wish them both every success! So proud of you!!!
